The UX of defining who you are

My final project “The User Experience of Defining Who You Are” was about creating a better user experience for defining race and ethnicity in online surveys and forms.

My proposed solution was a new workflow that led respondents to an extensive list of ethnicities based on the users’ previous answers. I conducted a survey using SurveyMonkey and produced a wireframe of new online race categorization. My focus was on Latino identification, so the workflow was designed only for Latinos respondents. In this new experience, users start entering their country of origin, and after each question, the survey database changes and customizes to generate the final list of possible ethnicities or the option for self-identification.

Here are some slides explaining the process.
